FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Application Broadcasting International (ABI) (www.applicationbroadcast.com), an expert provider of Citrix-based, remote-hosting services for e-business, today announced an agreement with Complete Systems Inc. (CSI) (www.completesys.com), provider of Dental 2000 dental management software. Under terms of the agreement, ABI will provide CSI with application hosting services, proactive monitoring and ongoing management from ABI’s data center in Indianapolis, IN. CSI is the first Windows based dental practice management solution in the country to be offered via the web.

CSI of Waco, TX, is an 18-year veteran of the dental practice management software market. Their main product, Dental 2000, a complete dental office management system, is currently offered nationwide. CSI recognized the need to make Dental 2000 easier to access and lower in cost, while continuing to provide the same robust functionality. The delivery of the Dental 2000 solution via ABI’s Application Service Provider model drastically broadens Dental 2000’s target markets by making the solution available to dental practices large and small on a "pay as you go" per seat basis, with no capital outlay for in-house server hardware or dental software. The only hardware requirement is a PC, Thin Client terminal, Mac or UNIX station with Internet access.

"Teaming with ABI makes good business sense for both our customers and us," said Ron Barnett, Complete System’s CEO. "Now we have the best of both worlds. We can serve clients that want to host their software and data at their own office with our existing software version and, through ABI, provide off site, Web-enabled services utilizing the exact same software. This results in tremendous savings for us as a software developer; savings we can pass on to our customers," stated Barnett. "In fact, use of ABI’s application service provider technology actually allows our programs to run much quicker over the Internet than software that is JAVA-based and built for the Internet", added Barnett. "By running the very same software over the Internet that we install on client's computers, we have many advantages over the JAVA-based packages. Our application is so responsive when run in this way, that there is hardly any discernable difference in performance (compared to running the software on a local machine) even when run across a 56K dial-up connection! More companies should be looking at this technology rather than redesigning their entire systems to be JAVA-based," said Barnett.

He also noted that ABI differs from other application service providers because of its infrastructure support relationship with Lantech of America, a 16-year-old company with substantial experience in designing, implementing and supporting server-based, thin client computing environments. ABI was selected after a nationwide search and thorough evaluation of competing application service providers. According to Barnett, "No other company we evaluated had the same combination of service, experience and technology we found in ABI".

CSI cites that benefits to the dentist include: Robust performance in a standard Windows environment; Interfaces with existing image management software; No capital outlay for practice management software; No future program updates to purchase (updates are automatically placed on the server); Data security (backups are automatically performed daily by ABI); Easier filing of electronic claims (they are automatically retrieved by the claims clearinghouse daily) and Access of the same data from multiple locations. "Practices will now be free to focus efforts and capital on their core business, the dental practice," Barnett concluded.
